TUC is looking for volunteers interested in serving on a team to help review, plan and implement the IT infrastructure and strategy for the future.
If you are computer literate (Mac and/or PC), have graphic/design skills, or are passionate about the cloud, social networking, technology in worship – and are interested in helping support one or more of – the new website – the office PCs and network – use of technology in worship - and help move TUC into the 21st century – Social networking – mobile devices –etc.
NEXT NEW MEMBERS ORIENTATION CLASS will be held on Sundays, February 12th (1st session) & February 19th (2nd session) from 12:30 pm, in the second floor classroom. Childcare is available. GREEN TEA, RAZOR & SOAP DRIVE for our homeless neighbors in San'ya: Sanyukai is a registered NPO that seeks to alleviate the hardships experienced by the increasing number of homeless people in the neighborhood of San'ya in Taito-ku, Tokyo, by providing medical care and welfare programs. TUC has been supporting Sanyukai with financial and material donations over 15 years. This year, TUC is sending them 3 items: Japanese Tea Leaves, Disposable Razors and Soap. Boxes are placed on the Outreach Ministry Table in the Lobby from January 15 to February 12. ARE YOU AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ATTENDING TUC? Are you interested in international student fellowship at TUC? If so, we'd like to get to know you. We invite you to sign up on the registration sheet on the bulletin board in the 1F lobby, or to come talk with us at the Evangelism Ministry table in the 1F lobby. The next ISF gathering will be on Saturday, February 4th from 4 pm in the B1 Fellowship Hall. The topic/focus will be “Christian Identity”, and the speaker is our own Kathy Matsui, Elder at TUC. Congregational Meeting with Luncheon on February 5 in Fellowship Hall Immediately Following the 11:00 am Worship Service The Council of Tokyo Union Church invites all TUC members and friends to attend the regular Congregational Meeting to be held in Fellowship Hall immediately following the 11:00 am worship service on Sunday, February 5. At the meeting, we will receive the reports on the finances of the previous year and the results of the stewardship campaign, approve a budget for the current year, elect officers (Elders), and consider other business as may properly come before the meeting. To submit any other business for consideration at the meeting, please contact President Russell Gesling (president.tuc@gmail.com) in advance of the meeting. We welcome and encourage everyone to attend. A fellowship luncheon will be served.
TUC FLEA MARKET is the biggest fundraiser of the year! The proceeds go to Outreach for their various projects to help those in need. We need your help - setup, donations, pricing, selling, buying, etc. Setup begins on Sun., March 4 and sale is on March 9 – 10 (Fri.& Sat.) Sign-up sheets are in the lobby. EMERGENCY RELIEF ACTION - January 29th: TUC responds, with prayers and special offerings by willing members and friends, to the needs of the victims of Tropical Storm Sendong/Washi that damaged cities and towns of Mindanao, the Philippines, a week before Christmas, 2011. To give, please use the emergency envelope or marked as for Philippine Tropical Storm victims.
VALENTINE LOVE GIFT FEBRUARY 5TH AND 12TH: We all have a chance over the coming two weeks to thank the staff of our church (pastors, full-time and part-time), whose dedication and hard work are a true blessing for TUC. Between Feb. 5 and Feb. 12, the Personnel Ministry Team will be collecting financial contributions from the congregation for the annual Love Gift. The Love Gift is a way for us to show our appreciation to the TUC staff members who contribute their gifts and talents behind the scenes to ensure that all aspects of the church operate smoothly and our facilities are maintained. The Staff Love Gift envelopes will be available in the pews from next Sunday, February 5th or marked as for Love Gift.
