Youth Pastor

Pastor Joseph Park

I am Joseph Park, and I serve as the Youth Pastor at Tokyo Union Church.

Every spiritual journey has an origin story, and mine begins with my great-grandmother, the first Christian in my family! When she received Jesus Christ, she prayed boldly that her children and their children would serve God and His church. So far, her prayer has been answered through three generations of pastors—my grandfather, my father, and now me.

I was born and raised in Seoul, but my path has taken me through Northern New Jersey, Boston, Mozambique, and Hong Kong. These itinerant experiences have deeply shaped my faith, allowing me to see God as a mystery rich in paradox. God was the Great Constant, in whom an immigrant kid from Korea found belonging and connection in America. God was the Everlasting Fire that stirred that same kid to devote his life to the service of Christ’s kingdom and His people. God remains both the question and the answer, the journey and the destination. And through it all, God remains the one source of grace that transforms and the steadfast love that sustains.

It is my joy to share this beautiful story with you!

I hold a Master of Divinity from Presbyterian University and Theological Seminary (PUTS) in Korea, and I have ministered to a diverse body of believers—from children and teens to college students, young professionals, and seniors. I first joined TUC in August 2024 as interim associate pastor, and now I am blessed to serve as Youth Pastor. My spouse, Jiyoon, and I are grateful to continue our journey in Tokyo, praising God and growing together in the wonder of His love and mystery.
